...good turnout for the opening reception at Old School Square...always cool to see your own work hanging up with gallery lighting and folks checking it out...and especially looking around to see all of the awesome work from my fellow art teachers, also showing in this exhibit.
Oh...and CED #102...done. Posted it before I left for the reception!

As in Old School Square. After some spring cleaning, and ANOTHER Gironda 'tire issue' (insert big sigh) John and I headed down to Delray to deliver my painting for the PBCATA show at Old School Square. We figured we might as well make a day of it, so we walked around, had some lunch and some coffee. Aside from the car trouble, it was a good day. Looking forward to the reception this Wednesday (April 11th from 5:30-7:00) Yes, a shameless plug! I also finished up my CED #96 this evening. It reminded me of a piece I did in January, and then I looked through my March pieces and found a few more profile/person facing something views so I compiled them into one grouping of pictures (below). Kind of interesting to see that certain compositions or ideas will reappear in my work without me really making a conscious decision. Tomorrow...or this weekend...or whenever it happens...I need to finish up Paul's commission, start some pieces for two shows at the Green Room in Fort Lauderdale, maybe make some funky cupcake paintings...and...wait, just gonna try to tackle these items...
PRODUCTIVE. Yep, me. Productive...producing...making...creating...could not SLEEP because I was feeling so inspired...going to sleep at 3:00am only to wake up at 7:45am to paint some more...That was my weekend. I made some art, looked at art, talked about art, and figured at a new business related to art...more to come on that one. For now...here are the pics from a great weekend... The goals for this evening…originally it was just to mail off some work then sit down and make some art….then I remembered that I had to get some work ready for the PBCATA members show at Sugar Sand Park. So, after a two trips to Michaels and a little over an hour wrestling with frames, double-stick tape and wire…I have some semblance of three pieces ready for presentation. I love drawing, but you can really spend some money of presentation for drawings. Wow. Thankfully all I have to do for the Bear and Bird show is wire the back of the canvas, and my shoes I didn’t even worry about, just mailed those suckers off. (While I am thinking about it, for the record, please note that I always get the bear and the bird backwards…tsk, tsk) I digress. Oh yes, art…art is not happening tonight…instead, gonna get some sleep. I’m spent. |
