When I finish a series I am always a little relieved, excited...and stressed. Stressed because I know that means that I will need to think up my next theme.  Back when I first started doing the whole 'daily art thing' it was all thanks to a fun web site I found, http://creativeeveryday.com/._  This is a fun, free, on-line community of artists making art- every day.  I used to stick to the suggested monthly themes but as the years have gone by I have started making my own themes for myself based on something that I am interested in at the time, or events that will happen that month that I can somehow connect to my art.  I forget that I can check out those suggested themes if I ever get stuck...so I just usually stress at the end of the month.

So last night, I was lying on the floor of my studio- which is something I have been doing kinda frequently.  (See, I am re-organzing my creative space so I still have a huge pile of stuff I don't want to deal with, so that is pushed to the side while I contemplate the best, most efficient way to organize everything that also helps maintain the 'inspiration' and joy I feel in my studio...so...I get overwhelmed...I sit in my desk chair and look around...I spread out on the floor with my cats trying to figure it all out)  Which brings me back to the floor...and to the cats.  They are staring at me- I am staring back at them.  Nothing is happening.

Fast forward to 4:30 this morning when I wake up and think to myself- 'that's it!  CATS!'  I rolled over and checked on-line and, sure enough, there is even an official tie-in for the month of June- its National Adopt a Cat Month.  Seriously, it's like...a real thing.  I saw it on the interwebs and everythang, and here are a few links;

I'll get into Mackie and Scooter's history sometime later this month...and my love for felines in general...but in the meantime I combed through my artwork from the past few years and found the following cat-relevant works;
The specifics...like what material(s)...sizes...general idea for how I want these to look- no idea.  Still thinking that part over.  I did stop by and visit a special place here in Palm Beach County today to discuss how my cat art might help some local kitties...more on that as it develops.

 In the meantime, a cat meme to buy me some time..
