I love birthday cake. And art. Yep, it's my birthday. Today I am 35 years old. Looks really funny when I see that written out. 35...me? True story. I don't feel 35. I feel 25. Sometimes I feel 15. Silly, excited, sparkly, inspired, creative- that is how I feel. If that is what it feels like to be 35 then bring it. As far as birthdays go, this has seriously been one of the best ever. Lot's of celebrating and birthday love from friends and family. ...and I am definitely more productive in my art than I have ever been, so I am excited about what the future will bring. I am working on trying to get my art out there more, maybe money (or a living) off of it..but for now I am just content to just keep makin' art til I can't no more. 'You Spin Me Right Round' I finished up CED #338 tonight...I was thinking that this dame was putting up her tree and it just got all crazy, the ornaments tangled up in her messy curls...what's a girl to do? Just a fun picture made on my birthday. I made it with the intention that the figure would be upside down...but I think it works the other way as well. Then...I started thinking... 'Repeater' ...hey what if I tried to make a repeat pattern... So I plugged it in the collage and this is what I got. Now, the image was not made to be a repeat, but it was fun to see what it would look like. There were some areas that seemed to connect, I could probably push this idea more. Would be fun wrapping paper if put in repeat...just a thought. #336, posted it today (finally!) Wow. December. Really? Yes. Really. I can't believe it is already December...and I have been making a piece of art (or five or ten) every day this year. And now I am in the last month of this Creative Every Day Challenge. Wow. Not going to reflect on it a ton right now, but I will be writing more about this whole experience in the future...but not now, it's getting late! My first two pieces for the month are now posted. I was tardy in getting #336 posted (pardon me) because my AMAZING husband and friends planned a surprise early birthday party for me yesterday. Seriously, amazing. First thing this morning...yep, I am up. Headed to the beach to draw and the wind had other plans. I stayed for about 30-40 minutes and then threw in the towel..put away my art materials and headed out to run errands. Finally, much later... it was time to pull out my small art table and catch up on Project Runway while I finished finished up #337.
And now, time to get some sleep- gotta get up in less than five hours! |
