Okay, so of the students want to donate items to the art program in lieu of paying the art fee...and I'm about that. Like...ALL about it. This will help me free up funding for items that we can't get locally- like glazes. Plus, stuff is super cheap right now- and ya'll know I love a bargain!
Remember, 10 items is fine. (about $10 and some change) And you don't have to 'shop'- just buy 10 of the same thing.
Here are some of the things that we need;
(I am only showing my finds at Walmart and Dollar Tree- but Target, Office Depot, Dollar General, Family Dollar...all of those have things we can use!)
Documents from the first days of school...very important:
Another great year at LWHS is in 'da books! Hooray!
Seriously, every year I teach I think I enjoy it even more- especially teaching at Lake Worth! Wooo!
There are several things that keep me busy at the end of the year, and I figured I would just mention each briefly...in case another teacher stumbles upon this here post (especially a newbie-stay strong!) or even one of my students- I think it's good for ya'll to see what goes on behind the scenes!
End of the Year Art Show
Here are some pics from our show;
Large-scale group art projects
One thing that I am really excited about is the fact that this mural in the band room DID get completed- YAY! Antonio and his art crew worked hard but they made it happen. I am really excited about next year- we've already started planning MORE murals around campus!
THEY LOVED IT. Literally. I had students working from bell to bell and not even finish all of the prompts....which is still okay because I graded them on what they completed. Once I saw this- that was it.
So this is how I have been giving my exams ever since;
the EOY studio breakdown!
Okay...so Gordon Ramsey may be just a tad dramatic, but you get the idea. End of the year- gotta shut down the art room for the summer.
I have to say- my students are always SO HELPFUL. I have a list of jobs on my desk and the kids check off which ones they want to complete, some for service but honestly most of them just to help me out! They sharpen colored pencils, test out markers, help clean and organize- you name it! I love my students!
...and that's a wrap!
