It was a little bit of a challenge to take pictures of this series...and rather than stress out I just took some photos and accepted the fact that this piece is best experienced in person, when you can physically open the larger shadowbox and pull each smaller box out and flip it over to see the back. I love this piece...but it was really hard for me because it took me away from how I usually work. I like to have a work for each day, which for the most part I do...but one day was just spent just doing some of the additional painting on the side...and then I decided that the last day of the month would be the start of a new shadowbox which would contain one shadowbox for each month of this year... And I don't know if anyone can understand, because I give myself self-imposed rules for how I work...which totally make sense to me...but, ummm...okay. I am not going to try and break this down into individual days...so please consider this the first 31 daily pieces of 2014...and the beginning of a year-long project. Yep, crazy. I know. Below I have a breakdown the individual parts of the overall piece for the month...and here is a link to a slideshow that also shows the piece. Enjoy!
