October...'trees'.

The challenge for this month is 'trees'.  For me, this is where all began...when I started this blog I was working on 30 tree drawings...and now here I am, looking to the tree motif for inspiration.  For this go 'round, I am going to work more with the head and shoulders of the female form, since that is what I love to draw...and  try to keep up my fashion illustrations..kind of didn't expect it to take off like it did...might have to re-work the blog to create a separate area for these...but for now, will just have a section after my CED pieces for this month for the FI's for this month.  (that's short for Fashion Illustration, folks!)

Update, 10-21-12...ummm...kind of got a little...distracted....trees...got into the lines...turned to hair...then waves...coming back to trees...but adding color...

Update, 10-31-12...first off, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!  (...my favorite holiday, hands down!) So...the series is done.  I tried not to be so hard on myself this month...I stress out if their isn't a flow, a narrative, progression to the pieces...but this month I tried to let myself just concentrate on each piece, each day.  I feel that the series started pretty drippy and abstract...got a little tighter and more detailed...definitely had my fashion illustration influence...then the pieces turned a little dark as I was thinking about everything going on with my brother and his accident...after the Art Hive Launch party event I became a little more interested in the lines...my branches took on almost wave-like qualities in the three and five piece canvas panels I created, also done in monochrome....and then it was on to oil pastel and watercolor with a lighter touch....

The series had it's ups and downs, and I can see taking many of the pieces and continuing in other directions...but for now, this is what I made this month.  Lady meets tree, tree turns to line.

...and...fashion illustrations for October...these may move later, not sure yet... (10-1-12)

Msc. Art...decided to add this section because in any given month I create pieces that aren't part of the numbered pieces...I am so weird like that...one of these days I am going to try and get a total count on the actual number of pieces that I have created this year...as of 10-1-12 the 'official' number is 275...but there are a ton that are not numbered...I think it is actually closer to 350-400...oh my goooodnesssssss.....
