...And maybe, just maybe...all of that artwork is now in Casa Gironda...like...ALL of it... ...and IF I did do this, bring all the artwork home I mean...it is, I mean, WOULD BE, safe...and not bother my husband as long as it doesn't cross the middle of the room. School will be closed starting Monday, March 16th through due to the 20th to take precautions against spread of the Coronoavirus. We will also be out as planned for our designated Spring Break period of March 23rd through the 27th. Should you have questions regarding school related issues and this virus, please check the district site, https://palmbeachschools.org/students_parents/health_services/coronavirus_disease_2019__covid_19 Do not get your info from friends, Facebook, Instagram comments, etc- refer to the district- unless your 'friend' is Dr. Fennoy or with the district then chances are they don't know what they are talking about. PeriodTT. Ways to contact me: Text,You can contact me via the Remind text from 7am-7pm Email, [email protected] DM, @studiogironda 3D-1 StudentsI have pre-packaged calendars for April and May for you, along with a pencil. Hopefully you got those from me before you left. If not, print out the PDFs below or look up blank calendars, get a ruler and make one yourself on whatever paper you can find- it's not that hard. Please choose ONE THEME for each calendar, and complete images within that theme in each square. Take your time and make the work detailed, like tiny, finished pieces of art. And yup, I will expect these to be finished when you get back. When we return we will complete the Plaster Mask Project and also the Clay Tile Project. Depending on how long we are out there may be additional assignments, so take care of this one during that first week off so you won't be overwhelmed...and expect to have tons to do because you know I love to 'do too much'. NOTE: If you missed the chance to come by and get one of the 'calendar packets' and you don't have access to a printer...don't forget, you can always start working on your individual sketches. Same deal for 4NWs, 20 sketches- one theme. (the two calendars are two sep grades this time, so you will still have to complete them at some point) ...keep in mind this will be in addition to the plaster mask, clay tile and 1-2 other 3D projects, so use your time wisely. Portfolio and AP StudentsSorry my children, but ya'll are the OFFICIAL #TeamNoSleep. AP's still have the deadline, and portfolio you are expected to work at that same level. (love you guys!!) You will continue to work on your individual projects, as you are the one that determines what you are working on. The expectation is that you will have three new pieces for the final nine weeks, depending on your particular project. 3D/Fashion: look in your closet and use you own old clothes as the under-structure for new pieces if you need to. You can work on elements of your work, such as folded/manipulated paper, etc and bring those back after the break to attach to garments. You will also need final sketches of each piece, drawn to the best of your ability, so you can work on those as well. Also you have two hands and access to old clothes- stitch- use what ya got! AP 2D and Drawing: You know what pieces you have created- you can work on your final three new pieces for the 4th NWs- think about pieces that will connect the message of your overall Sustained Investigation. You need five solid, AMAZING pieces to mail off for the Quality portion of the portfolio, you can re-work some old pieces or focus on the new works for this. These should be your BEST pieces. When in doubt- sketch and experiment with materials/techniques in your sketchbook as that will be photographed as well. I am available for in-progress critiques of your work or to answer questions, text, email or DM me- you know I will respond :) (Well...'in person' that is!) So I saw an email when we got back from the holidays- it was from the district asking for teachers to help create table centerpieces for the Distinguished Alumni and Leadership Awards- a big event to showcase innovative programs. (I actually received a separate email asking to be a part of it- they wanted to highlight our recycled fashion!) I figured it would be fun, so of course I emailed to say that LWHS would participate. We received 15 canvases to paint along with some paint (thanks Ed Foundation!) and got to work. The majority of the students working on painting were from the AP/Portfolio sections, along with some really talented 3D-1s. I missed many, many 5th period class periods in February due to going to my 'borrowed classroom' across town for National Boards, so I wanted to do something special for them. I decided to grab some air dry clay and have them make some 3D snakes and lizards to add to table displays.
