So I was thinking about how we need to paint our 3D letters and our clay slab projects...and then it dawned on me that not all of you have had art before and therefore may not know how to properly mix colors. Which is why we are stopping everything and making a COLOR WHEEL!! 3D-1 you are working super small so you can finish it in a week/week and a half. Paper size is 9x12, portrait or landscape. It doesn't have to look like a basic color wheel- 'cause ya'll aren't basic, right? The only requirement is that you have at least 48 sections to paint...that will allow for each of the twelve pure colors, and the tints, tones and shades for each one. Please have the design completed in pencil before you leave for Thanksgiving so we can start painting as soon as we get back. Advanced folk- I am making ya'll do one, too. Make it fit with the work that you have been creating. After that it is fast-forward to the holidays...you will paint your 3D letters and as soon as I fire your clay pieces you can paint them, wrap them and then take them home :) Be ready to WERRRKKKKKKKK!

So I freaked out because I realized that it is already November and if we don't pause for a clay project now the work won't have time to dry and be bisque fired so I can get it back you ya'll to paint with acrylic paint before the break so...PAUSE! We will be working on clay all this week, maybe 1-2 days next week...then it's back to our 3D letters! -Mrs. G
