...I did bring this blog back...but probably won't do a ton of blogging on this site until closer to the beginning of the new school year...at my new school...gulp.

Even though I am in summer-break mode (teachers, ya'll know what I mean!) I am still thinking a little bit about teaching...my main platform for that right now...PINTEREST!  Love it, love it, love it!  So many amazing art lessons and resources all in one spot.  I have two boards related to teaching, one is called, 'Teachin' Art' and the other is 'ART MATTERS! (Youth Art Month/Art Advocacy/Art Quotes)'.  Art teachers, please feel free to check these boards out when you aren't enjoying the silence, lounging by the pool/beach, or working on your own artwork!!

I would like to note that I will make sure to post the inspirational graphics I make for the Art Hive Magazine Facebook to this page (if I don't add them to the Art Hive blog) and then pin to the 'ART MATTERS!' board...feel free to use 'em!  I love art history, even more I like to have FUN with art history...using it as a reference, a source of inspiration, or for random silliness!

That being said..here is a little inspiration from one of my favs...Georgia O'Keeffe;

I also wanted to just mention again a really cool site that I found to create coloring pages from photos;

http://www.coloringpagecreator.com/

I used this site to convert some of my June 2013, 'Childhood' series into coloring pages to post on my art blog so...well, so kids (and kids at heart!) could print'em and color if they wanted.

I can definitely see where the coloring pages could be great for creating 'filler' activities...but they could also be used for Warhol-inspired lesson especially if you don't have Photoshop, etc at your school...but you could also use this site to quickly convert pictures for to make transfers for painting projects, etc.  Just a thought...and I am actually doing that with a few of my pieces that I am working on right now.

Anyway, check out this site.  It's free, don't know if I mentioned that...and it is easy to use! Yay!

Now...where was I?  Oh yes....summer break!
