This is super, super silly but John and I keep singing the intro music from Conan's 'In the Year 2000' bit from back in the day; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6IF3X-HeS0  Disclaimer: Hair is NOT blue again...just a filter ;) Long story short...today marked the 2000 day of consecutive daily art making for me.
I want to say much more...but I also worked at camp all day, already posted my art for today...and I kinda want to chill. SO- I'll sneak some time away this weekend to write some, hopefully. In the meantime, here are a few relevant links with some info/pics about this how this whole daily artin' came to be;
I gotta say...it took me a few days to nail down the style I wanted to do for this series. I just finished a pretty detailed body of drawings with my #MythicalMayJLG series, and I wanted to loosen up for summer.
So I played around, and came up with a kinda loose black line look with a little color, and a 'bug' theme, of course. My main struggle is that I keep doing 'too much' and losing the whole 'loose, whimsical' style I was going for. I still have more pieces left to go in the series, and I finish teaching camp on Friday so I will have more time...so I reckon we'll just see what happens! ...I can finally share the finished backdrop I helped paint for little Amelia's first birthday! Her Aunt Mirelis and I made awesome painting partners! Happy birthday you sassy girl!  If you missed the opening, no worries! The show is up all summer!
