 Always nice when we get to hang out with Justin  Ferry ride was FREEZING!!! And it was randomly VERY busy  ...but the view when you get there is 100% worth it!   Sunsets are our favorite. You can only get a good ocean sunset in a few spots in NC, and this is one of 'em.   Met up with John and Jennifer in Southport before driving back.  Stopped by the CAM to check ou the outdoor work...found some fun 'fabric'  I was especially happy to see some familiar works- Dorothy Gillespie's large-scale sculptures! I had a chanced to hear her as the keynote speaker at my NCAEA conference back in the day...and it turns out her work makes great 'fabric'!  Come home from work, hang out on porch with cats, nap, make art, sleep, repeat. We bought passes before this mess so we are trying to use them, especially since they extended them. So an extra day on the weekend is a no-brainer, we are headed to Florida!   It isn't as crowded right now, which is one reason why we feel comfortable going to the parts...also, it rained so that REALLY cleared it out. We could social distance with ease!  That thing in the middle of the pool is ME- talk about keeping my distance!  FINALLY! Reunited with my art brother! I miss him so much!!!!  Brent gifted me a 'surf cat' portrait of Mr. Milky- love it!  It's so funny, we never went in the eleven years that we lived in SoFlo, but the Breakers has become one of our favorite spots when we go back. I love the architecture and the decor, and the view of the ocean.  ...up before sunrise to head back to NC. I miss FL already! Maybe I don't need an intro? IDK I am continuing with my #PaperCutsJLG fashion illustrations for a few reasons; -I like them -Other folks seem to like them. -Still having a hard time adjusting to my new surroundings, so I need to do something that doesn't add stress to my life. That pretty much sums it up. Plus...I really do enjoy them :)  My weekly grounding/church sesh, always needed.  |
