So...I have a solo art show and the opening is next weekend- you should come! I was scheduled to show in 2016 but received the call from the Harold's curator, Christian, asking me if I was interested in showing in November...the answer was 'YES'! I have a ton of new work on hand that hasn't been formally 'shown' yet...but I instead I figured, what the heck...I'll just make brand new works for this show.
Gulp. Wait....whaaaaa?! I have five paintings pretty much finished...four small ones started....a secret creation in the back of my classroom in progress...and then I had another idea for some special things earlier today...so I am going to have a busy weekend ahead of me- and I can't wait! Local folks, I sure hope you can make it!

We had a weekend filled with football, tons of junk food (hey, we gotta be good hosts, right?!) and even got a lil' culture in! Saturday we peeled ourselves up off the couch from our football and chicken wing coma to head out and get some fresh air...and we stopped by Ink and Pistons/Slushbox Gallery for the opening of 'The Kill Room'. Now, a few thangs about me. If you have read my blog before or checked out my art I'm pretty cheerful and silly. I like glitter, gals with big eyes, bright colors, leopard and zebra everything, it's just who I am. But did you know I am a straight up scaredy cat? For real, I am. But I wasn't always. When I was in middle school I LOVED horror movies. I read most everything Stephen King wrote cover to cover multiple times (The Stand, Different Seasons are my favorite...and I once had a nightmare from just LOOKING at the cover of Salem's Lot!) I don't know when...where...but at some point I just started getting scared and I stopped watching scary movies. And don't even get me started on zombies...soooo scared of them!!! So we went to the show, I didn't have a piece in it but I know many of the talented artists featured and John and I knew that Justin would love Ink and Pistons 'cause...well, just 'cause its awesome. And he did! We all did! ...Detour...T-shirt Necklaces! I love them! I made three more this week (yellow one not pictured) More on my instagram, @artinw_damuse or check out the hashtag #MissMatchyMatchy ...seriously, I love making these!
And now...my art. Here it is!
You can probably tell which pieces I created after seeing 'The Kill Room' show! Ummm...okay, so I gave in- I followed the artsy fartsy flock...and...I...ummm...I bought those art jammies from Target!!! And I love'em!! But I'm not alone...here's proof! (and check out the sparkly gal in the beginning of the blog post...yep, yours truly!) http://plbrown.blogspot.com/2015/10/an-artsy-pajama-party.html Ummm...hint...I'm one of 'em! And Angela and Andy from Art Hive magazine, and Amanda, friend of 'da Hive...not pictured, Sof, Jess, Alejandra! Pretty cool, huh?!
