Tonight I finished gluing the crystals to my last piece in my monthly series, which started off as fashion illustrations in general and quickly became all about Oscar de la Renta's Fall 2012 runway looks...then it moved to the styling..sigh. Tonight I will be working on my monthly self portrait. What am I going to do? No clue whatsoever. Also on the agenda for the weekend...sleeping in...some beach and/or pool time...some early birthday celebrating...working on some commissions...and doing some cleaning and organizing. But for now, it feels good to be finished with this month's series. I do want to go in and do at least 10 or so fashion illustrations, maybe some big ones, just to loosen up again. I haven't even check to see what the Creative Every Day theme is for December, the final month in this endeavor to make art every day in 2012. Might peek tonight, might not. But one thing is for sure...I will be artin'. "I wanted this, I wanted to do this, but my work is me, and it has to be right." -Oscar de la Renta (...and I couldn't agree more!)

Today on the agenda...teaching art all day, the headed to cheer practice with my JV team (after going over b-ball chants we just played around with stunts, lot's of fun!)..nap at 6:30 (ya'll don't judge)...an email about a collaboration with an AMAZING glass artist...a trip to the gym...and then to my art table to finish up #333. For this piece, I continued with the circle motif, still keeping a consistent image by focusing on the head/styling from the Oscar de la Renta Fall 2012 runway. I really tried to focus on the black line today. I really love a black outline, love how it makes the colors 'pop'. Makes me think of stained glass. Today I added some text...see if you can read what it says! CED #332... November 27 Had a great evening with friends, supporting a local restaurant (Howley's in West Palm Beach), promoting a local art magazine (ummmm...maybe you have seen me blog about it...Art Hive!) and supporting the local artists that were set up for the monthly art show. Between the awesome diner-style food, the talented artists and the good company...it was a pretty awesome night! And CED #332 is all done...had to give that gal some eyebrows! And now...it is 11:00 on the dot, and I am going to actually get some sleep! ....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..................... I know, it's actually Tuesday...I got...well... a little distracted. Yesterday (Monday) was busy, woke up and was a little sad that my Thanksgiving break was over...then... I remembered that I had a full day of art planned, even after work...and that cheered me right up! So here it is, well, what happened after teaching and my daily nap...I was live artin' at a really cool event in West Palm Beach...can't wait to do that again! ...'bout to head out for another art event, and dinner...still working on the piece for today, will post later on!
That girl is cra'y. Okay...so haven't posted but here is what went down on Thanksgiving...please know that I did not actually wear this AMAZING crocheted turkey...but if I had it in my possession, and it was beaded and sequined to the max...it would have been on my head. For sure. Also, THANK YOU to Krista, Nancy and Dori for the awesome food! Today I woke up early and knew that I did NOT want to deal with any kind of Black Friday craziness, so I stayed around. One thing that I have kind of started as a tradition is putting up our Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving. I like to put them up so that I will have time to look at them...it makes me happy to see the lights and the sparkle. (go figure, right?) Since we have been living in Florida my decorations have taken on a kind of 'beachy theme'...it's just my little ritual, it's calming...John is sleeping and I am awake, putting up the decorations, ready to surprise him with holiday cheer. Side note...cats DO NOT like to wear holiday frocks. Nope, not at all. Folks...it's beginning to look alot like Christmas. For real.Scooter has the best ideas. And then...time to nap. I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's how I spend my free days...getting up early, working frantically on one project or another, eating lunch and then, napping. Scooter likes my schedule, so I guess I will keep it. After an awesome nap it was time to venture out and try to soak in some sun, so I packed my art bag and headed over to the pool to work on CED #328...here are some work pics... 12:15. The final school bell rings. Packed my bag...straightened up my room and my carpool buddy and I are heading down Beeline highway, back towards home. I had an awesome 'art date' planned with my gal Jess. I still need to make my daily piece...but here are some pics from today. I definitely want to spend a little more time blogging, specifically about the visit to Reflective Collections...wow. But for now, check out these pics!
And here is how I spent it......typical day...two more fashion illustrations...in-progress and finished daily piece, #325...and random obese cat lying on our floor, wait- that is my cat, Mackie. Sheesh.
