![]() ...at least that's what Google Translate told me. Fairly productive day. I really have been putting off starting my pieces for the ANE Chinese New Year show coming up. Just haven't been able to wrap my mind around it. Also...distracted by the excitement of having a visiting artist in my class...My sixth graders are going to be working on some pieces inspired by Asian art for the next few weeks, focused on Chinese New Year (convenient, huh?) and that has at least given me some background and a few ideas. And of course I have talked it over with the other Tipsy Art Girls to brainstorm and get feedback... I just haven't really sat down and put a pencil or brush to paper yet. Until today. While I was waiting on my CED 14 to dry (one drawback to using watercolors) I decided to go ahead and get something sketched out...then started the first layers of paint on that...and of course then I had to wait for that to dry...so I started a second image. When I was working on the hair I remembered I had a straw lying around and...well, I figured I could make some cool hair if I blew the wet paint around with the straw. So far I like the effect, might add some more layers tomorrow. Now...time to watch some tv and maybe add some razzle dazzle to the chinese take-out cartons I picked up today...hey, what can I say, I love sparkle.
