...what a long drive. I mean, really. The drive back home to NC seems to get longer and longer. Seems like the past few trips we stopped in Jacksonville to break up the trip...not this time. John drove pretty much the whole way, and I didn't draw the whole time, because that wouldn't be a good co-pilot, but I did draw some. And...well, I came to a realization, an epiphany. I am not going to be able to completely fill up that blue sketch book, not by the end of the month- which is today. Not. Happening. Sigh.
After the some initial disappointment, I think I am okay with it. It is, of course, one of my silly self-imposed agenda items, and I did attempt to meet the goal with some urgency...but I know that I won't be able to 'fill' the book...and I guess what I realized is that I don't want to just 'fill' it up. I do want to do some journaling, maybe revisit and add to some of the previous drawings, even move beyond the monochromatic color scheme that I have stuck to this month. So...gonna just going to draw in my blue sketchbook whenever I feel the urge. I am hoping that it can be complete, as complete as a sketchbook ever can be I guess, by the end of the summer. That seems more reasonable. So now...working on angels. Just about done, just waiting for the last layer to dry so I can start outlining and adding a little sparkle. Making the art is the easy part, the part that takes longer for me is framing the work, then packaging it to mail off. Also on the 'drawing table' here at our friends' place in Wilmington, NC- finishing up my CEDs and my self portrait. Everyone is at work or off visiting so I can really focus on this work, and thanks to Joey I have some awesome music to work to. Time to art.
