One of the perks of John's job is he presents at conferences...and whenever possible I tag along...to offer support, and to see a new place!  We traveled to Denver, Colorado recently and I am still wrapping my head around the trip.  Not only was Colorado amazing, but I had a chance to see one of my dearest friends, I have known her almost twenty years now.  We saw the sights, visited with my muse, her husband and her lil' super hero kiddo...I seriously cannot wait to make another trip out there to see them again, and to see more of Colorado...we are already looking up shows at Red Rocks...that is definitely on our 'must-do' list!

Just a few art-related happenings that I wanted to mention.  For starters, we came across some amazing street art while we were wandering around.  I thought the work looked familiar, sure enough it is the work of a pretty well-known street artist, David Choe. Of course, typical Jenny and John we had to take pics 'with' the art...so silly!

I found a few articles about the piece, including this one from My Modern Met;

For more on Choe, here is his web site, http://davidchoe.com/
Another art-related happening...angel drops! Of course!  I set up an studio in the big ol' window in our hotel overlooking downtown Denver and went to work creating 20 angels to leave around town.  I did hand-deliver one to an awesome man named Shaka at the bagel shop, he just had an awesome spirit and I had to leave him some #heART.

And...no trip to a new city would be complete without a pilgrimage to the local art museum!  Lemme tell ya, the Denver Art Museum did NOT disappoint!  Nick Cave, Sandy Skoglund, Barbara Krueger...those were just a few of my favs.  But the highlight, and TOTAL SURPRISE ('cause...ummm...teacher didn't do her homework beforehand...oops!) was the Joan Miró exhibition.  LOVED!!!  I spent some time before and after in their interactive community studio space playing with the art materials and just being inspired.  Anyone traveling to Colorado, the exhibit is up til June 28th...go see it!!!
...last museum pic...this interactive installation piece by Rupprecht Matthies...it MOVED ya'll.  I have video, will post it to IG or something 'cause I don't think I can do that on my web site at this time...but this piece really caught my eye.  To read more about it, click here.
