I can't remember which week, but I had to plan an 'extended artist date' for my Artist's Way book study. Like, get detailed- really plan it. I planned a trip for myself to go to Southport- which is about 45 minutes from Wilmington. I wasn't sure if I was going to take the ferry over or drive...but my muse from CO sent me a new mix CD (been sending them for over 20 years!) and I decided to drive so I could listen to it in it's entirety, in context. I wasn't sure when I would do it, but I wanted to just go, park the car and walk around and see things. Don't forget, the pandemic is still raging so that was part of my planning...I didn't come this far to just come this far- gotta stay safe! I tool myself out for breakfast at 7am (I only go places when they first open if I can help it so there aren't as many people) Kept my mask on while I waited for my food, worked on my morning pages but didn't get far- the food got there fast. Ate my breakfast, got an iced coffee to go and then I was on my way. This was my view as I finished up the rest of my morning pages; I love the swings by the water, probably stayed there a little too long 'cause I got some sun on my face...then it was off for my adventure. I didn't plan on talking about myself or my art but I just happened into several connections...we'll see how that plays out. Also, one of the highlights of the day was this bead sale- $1 a pack!!! I am stocked for my future beading projects! I was feeling so energized after my artist date that I just had to keep going, and the weather was on my side- almost 80 and sunny. The cat's and I hung out on the porch for about two hours til I finally had o make myself stop and go take a nap. I was only working off about 3 hours of sleep from the night before (unfortunately I am an early bird AND a night owl). But I am glad that I spent that time outside working in the natural light.
