Holiday Happenings...

...ummmm...yeah...blog...
not been keeping up with it. Guilty. However, there have been many happenings this holiday season, many art related...and this summary is going to be chaotic but that is pretty fitting...For starters, the ANE show was awesome.  Jess, Sofia and I had a great time, had a table right up front.  Of course it was sparkly and magical...so magical in fact that we were awarded 'Best New Artist' later that evening....I was so tired the next day, but I think that it is important for me to keep putting my own work out there, so bring on the Red Bull!

...ummmm...so then....
...new grant is posted and ready to go on Donors Choose (http://www.donorschoose.org/we-teach/325658.-2029090731) and I just saw earlier today that I already received a donation! Whoop whoop!  Really excited about this grant, it is to purchase drawing books and materials for my students...they...love...to..DRAW!...

...the paintings made it to Hawaii, Amanda took a pic of the work hanging above Lexi's new bedding, looks cute!  I had fun doing custom paintings for a little gal also fond of pink and sparkles.


...then off to celebrate Christmas and New Year's...

...headed home to NC for what ended up being an extended break...spent my collection of Michael's gift cards...visited my shoe paintings at Jazzy's and discussed working on a web for Mrs. Carlyle...visited my last two pieces at the Artist's Gallery of Southern Pines (formerly Artist's Alley)...then had an art night with Jennifer and delivered ten new watercolor paintings the next day...really whimsical, funky angels with red shoes and assorted animal print dresses...then gathered supplies to head to Raffaele's to paint wine glasses for customers for New Year's.

so...in the works...
...gotta get my art out...keep making paintings, drawings and sparkly things...keep being creative...keep networking with other artists to stay motivated and inspired...keep on keeping on...a few things I am focused on right now include prepping some work for sale on my gal Jessie's site, get ready for the next ANE show on 1-25-11...and maybe actually sitting down and do that whole Etsy thing I have been meaning to do.  oh...and i want to draw more...started a drawing over the break, will post later...forgot how much I just love to sit down and draw...and I need to get back on my beadwork...much to do indeed.

...2012 will be a very art-filled year!
