MM and Trinket cheerin' on those ECU Pirates!

Text from Blud at the beginning of the game...them's fighting words! (ummmm....but...we lost)

Well...I spent the better part of my day on the couch next to my husband and two cats...yelling at the TV.  

Bludworth, your team won...congrats.  Great game. 

And me?  Well, my Pirates didn't win.  But I was ready to cheer them on in full regalia.  Which brings me to today's 'Miss Matchy Matchy'.  For today's piece, she and Trinket were also supporting the Pirates. My inspiration mainly came from this skull ring.  For more about this ring, click here.

After working on my daily piece today I started to think about some other pieces that were directly inspired by ECU, many because they were made on game days.  I started trying to incorporate things like this (my sports teams playing) into my art as I work because it is kinda fun for me, and it helps me add a little extra narrative to the pieces in the series.  

Below are some of the pieces that I created last year that were directly related to my beloved Pirates or just included the team colors.  This is something that I think I will continue to do in 2015...just 'cause!
