November 10th was a REALLY good day!!

...it started with the new Nasco catalog in my mailbox at school-with TWO pieces by my LWHS art students!! Yasssss!

Top left is Nehemie's drawing. It won the top award in the Continuum Young Master's local art show, placed at Scholastics and is now in the Nasco catalog (that's her holding her Continuum ribbon)...and Shacira's paper dress was also featured in the Nasco catalog! This piece also placed at Scholastics- and it was featured in a student show at the Norton Museum of art. (that's her picture underneath with the dress form) Oh, and BOTH girls scored 5's on their AP 3D portfolios! So proud of them!

...and then...it was off to Bald Head Island...​

It wasn't as cold (or as busy!) as when we went to BHI in September, so it was perfect for sitting out on the deck of the ferry, you still have to wear your mask, but kinda keeps your face warm when the winds pick up.

I love the beaches in Wilmington but that BHI view just hits different.

Did I bring my leaves and art supplies? You betcha!

 ...and that first night, a familiar face on the local news...

Yup, it's ME! Ha!

I received a message on my Facebook art account from Frances Weller from WECT about a feature on my Donors Choose grant.  So I got up SUPER early the next morning, recorded a 30 second video and sent it to her.

The station aired the video on the 6 o'clock news.  My Donors Choose project was funded less that five-ten minutes after the segment aired!  I also received additional funding, so DC contacted me to create another project- which I did (mats and items for nice art displays) Yay!

...and of course, art. 
There is ALWAYS art!
