I am OFFICIALLY selling heART. Funny thing is...I have been selling art...but...I guess I didn't really put that out there, or make it super easy to make a purchase. I have been making the art, posting it to my web and to social media...folks contact me, I contact them back and sometimes...sometimes I make a sale. But my current series has really gotten a positive response, so rather than keep on with business as usual...and since my husband, the MARKETING PROFESSOR was seriously giving me side eye when I explained my selling strategy...I took some time over spring break to scan the first part of my current series (the images below EXCEPT the 'bad girl' pieces...ya gotta wait for those!) and I checked into a few print on demand services...and...well...here are the ways to get to my work...in case you want to buy prints...or notecard sets...or canvas prints...or throw pillows...or phone cases! So...first up, I set up a formal space to sell my work via Fine Art America. To find me, just search 'Jennifer Love Gironda' and select 'Artist' in the search area...and low and behold, 'me and the girls' will pop up! Click here to go directly to my FAA page! I checked into a few different POD (Print on Demand) platforms and after narrowing it down to three when I actually started to sit and upload work, create my account this one seemed to work best for me. I may or may not use additional platforms, I did set up two other accounts elsewhere...but I am hoping that this one will work. Then I added a SHOP page to my web site here. It links directly to the pieces I have for sale in FAA...but you can get to it right from my site...kinda crazy! Click here to go directly to my SHOP page right here my site...'cause who wants to spend time scrolling back up, right? OMG...is this really happening?! Lastly... I added a SHOP tab to my Facebook page. Again, everything is linked to FAA but it's still kinda cool that you can get to my work from my FB page....eeek! (These kind of things make me excited!) Click here to go directly to the link via my FB Artist page. Artist friends...I will be posting in the blog later about this POD experience, this is new for me so I have much to learn! Aside from setting up shop (literally...I set up SHOP!) ...I took a turn to the dark side...DISNEY VILLAINS! Why should the good girls have all the fun, right? So far I am about three villains in...starting my fourth right after I finish this here post... BUT...there's a catch. See...all month I knew I was going to make this switch, and I have been really looking forward to it...but...but I wasn't sure about the media. I had planned all along to switch from watercolor and acrylic on white paper to just acrylic on some black paper that I bought. I wasn't convinced, so for the first piece, the Evil Queen from Snow White, I did..ummmm...both. And I still couldn't decide...so I did two versions again for Maleficent and again for my (female) version of Captain Hook. Okay, so here's the plan for right now. Each day I will be making villains (for the majority of the rest of the series...not sure how I want to 'end it' yet.) I will also give myself to option to make a piece on black paper in the sub-series I have titled my 'Noir' series. These pieces will NOT count as separate numbers in my 'Creative Every Day (CED)' numbering...they will just be...like...another piece per day.
And that is just a little bit OCPD of me, I am aware but this is what I have to do to sleep at night. DISCLAIMER: By the way, you might have been wondering to yourself, 'Captain Hook is a dude, yo.' Why, yes. Captain Hook IS a dude. However...he is also a pirate. And I am an ECU Pirate...so whenever possible I MUST include Pirates in my art...so...see my reasoning? Okay, good. Time to make some more art. Stop by and SHOP my work! Yay!
