'A fine suggestion, a sketch with great feeling, can be as expressive as the most finished product.' -Eugene Delacroix
I posted this pic last night...but I wanted to write about it just a little bit this morning. Per the caption, this is a piece that I found, or that found me- we were reunited. It fell out of a sketchbook. I can't even remember when I started this one. It is small, about 5x7 inches. I had completed the right thumb, the figure and most of the left hand. I remember that when I was working on this one, whenever that was, I was looking at my own hand while I was drawing and, well, drawing my hand drawing the work. As confusing as that may sound, it made it a little difficult to draw, but I thought it would be a fun challenge at the time.
So anyway, the drawing falls out yesterday when I am packing up supplies to take to Jessie's. I just threw it in with my stuff, kind of an afterthought. When I pulled the drawing out to work on it, I decided to add some color, the flowing hair and the sparkle to show the elements that I like and often include in my work. Kind of like a metaphorical me thinking about what inspires me. Anyway, just wanted to mention that before the thought is lost in today's projects.
